Green Street Environmental Helps to Revitalize Out of Use Industrial Sites in Baltimore

Cody Furlong of Green Street Environmental collects sub-slab soil gas samples. Vapor Pins® were installed using a hammer drill and leak tested with helium to ensure a good seal. Samples were sent to a laboratory for analytical testing (EPA TO-15) to determine whether volatile organic compounds may be present in the sub-slab vadose zone.

Green Street Environmental's Sarah Munsch Performs LANDFILL GROUNDWATER MONITORING

Project Work Includes: 

  • Gauging static groundwater levels to find depth of groundwater;
  • utilizing low-flow sampling techniques through micro-purging to purge each well (100-200 ml/min);
  • establishing stabilization of wells (pH, conductivity, temperature, dissolved oxygen and turbidity); and 
  • groundwater sampling and analysis for VOC’s, Ethylene dibromide, 1,2-dibromo-3-chloropropane, Total Metals, Dissolved Metals, Ammonia-nitrogen, Nitrate, Total Alkalinity, Total Hardness, Calcium & Magnesium Hardness, Chloride; Sulfate, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Total Solids, Turbidity, Specific Conductance, and pH.

PRESS RELEASE: Green Street Environmental Selected as Environmental Consultant for Baltimore City's Project C.O.R.E

The State will invest $75 million, along with $18.5 million of investment from Baltimore City, over four years to demolish as many city blocks of blight as possible. The Maryland Stadium Authority will serve as project manager. The Baltimore City Department of Housing will identify potential properties for demolition. Green Street Environmental will assist the State and Baltimore City with inspection and removal of regulated and hazardous materials prior to demolition as well as site testing and removal monitoring/clearance.
